These dried beans are beige with brown streaks, but they turn brown when cooked. They’re often used to make refried beans. These are in the kidney beans family.

Preparation: (1 cup dry beans) Rinse Beans. Soak overnight to reduce cooking time. Drain. Add beans to 3 cups boiling water, and simmer covered for 60-90 min (soaked), 150 min (unsoaked).
